About Our Artistsa line or three about the creators
Artist Ann McCormack works in recycled glass, alcohol ink, pastel and more. She produces handcrafted jewelry, one of a kind glass bowls, platters and more as well as pastel and alcohol ink artowrk of a natural and organic origin.
Artist Beth Brightwell paints mainly jazz and blues musicians and singers in acrylic, pastel and charcoal. She also paints impressionistic scenery on old windows, makes beaded and copper wire wrapped jewelry and paints the wine glasses in the tasting room with different motifs and designs.
Artist Mike Miller specializes in commissioned portraits in oil as well as contemporary palette knife paintings.
Carole Barker Kennedy
Artist Carole Kennedy paints landscapes and other north Georgia scenery and is known especially for her paintings of birds.
Artist Ashton Woodall, our youngest gallery member is quickly making a name for herself with her detailed and unique works of fish and wild life oils on birch board and oak panel.
Artist Helen Miller is our premier potter with extensive experience creating in clay as well as teaching. Helen works in a variety of glazes and finishes. She is also an expert in Chinense Brush Painting and teaches periodic classes in that medium.
Artist Norma Hulsey loves painting for the public and talking to customers. You can often see her on our front porch painting away during nice weather. Norma has an extensive catalog of oil painting, still life, landscapes and plein air. Norma makes it all look so easy but her work is extrordinary!
Artist Billy Roper .is a renowned self taught contemporary folk artist, highly collected world wide.
Artist Janie Garrett started at Canvas and Cork as a student and used her past experience as a water colorist to take on a new medium, alcohol ink,. She especially enjoys trees as her subject matter and now also teaches alcohol ink, especially for new students.
Artist Claire Livingston is also the owner of Cavender Creek Vineyard and does triple duty as an instructor too. Claire calls it “facilitating” but whatever you call it, Claire’s acrylic painting and mixed media classes are very popular with our students. She alse exhibits her multi subject acrylic paintings in our gallery.
Artist Shirlely Bailey came to us a couple years ago when she relocated to Dahlonega from the southwest. Shirley has extensive eperience in a variety of mediums and is our “can do it all” artist, watercolor, acrylic, alcohol ink, mixed media, she is at her creative best with any new challenge.
