If you are planning a visit to Dahlonega and would like to do something different, why not book one of our Art, Wine and Hotel Packages? In conjunction with the Old Storehouse Inn and the Hall House Hotel we are now offering a one of a kind all inclusive experience of art classes, wine tasting and a 2 night stay at Dahlonega’s most charming hotels, all located within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, pubs and the historic Dahlonega Square.
Your 2 night stay begins with a wine and cheese reception and a tasting of locally produced Cavender Creek Vineyards Wines. Meet the vineyard owner and learn about the wine making industry in north Georgia and what is unique and special about Cavender Creek Vineyards.
You’re off to a creative start your first day with a morning guided acrylic painting class with local instructor Wanda Smith. This is step by step instruction that results in a finished painting by lunchtime!
Lunch break on day 2 will be catered by The Corner Kitchen. “At the Corner Kitchen we combine the freshest ingredients available, original time-tested recipes, attention to detail and dedication to customer service.” (Not to mention delectable treats from The Fudge Factory)!
Your afternoon art session will be an introduction to alcohol ink with Janie Garrett. Try this exciting new medium, challenging and forgiving at the same time! You’ll be creating a scene of birch trees on ceramic tile, while learning the tips and tricks of alcohol ink.
On your second evening with us we’ll be going to dinner at Bourbon Street Grille on the Square. Try a twist on the traditional New Orleans fare located in the Historic Hall House Building (which also houses the Hall House Hotel).
Day 3 offers a morning session and a unique opportunity to paint and create with one of the regions most well known contemporary folk artists, Billy Roper. Billy will guide you through painting “Composition and Design in the Folk Art Style” and you will complete an acrylic painting in a folk art style, but with your own personal touches.
